Honig Cabernet Sauvignon 2003 - The 2002 was stronger in tannins and alcohol and not the fan favorite like previous vintages.  However this 2003 vintage is just delicious!  A much prettier wine than the previous vintage.  Ripe plum and black raspberry aromas are framed by vanilla, allspice and some toasty oak. Intense fruit flavors and a rich, round mid-palate are followed by cocoa and black cherry on the finish. The tannins are firm and structured.  $32.99

Trentadue Merlot 2002 - A lot of California Merlots on the market have no sense of style, flavor and character.  I can say that with confidence with Trentadue's 2002 vintage is just the oppisite.   You can believe everything their winemaker has to say: "Our Estate Merlot is consistently a multiple Gold Medal award winner. The 2002 vintage was on the list of many as "nearly perfect." . A relatively long ripening period resulted in a ripe but balanced, complex wine. On the nose, this wine opens with intense Bing cherry, plum and molasses. Further aeration reveals layers of brown sugar, licorice and smoke with a hint of blueberry. The mouth feel is lush with a soft, almost sweet, long finish leaving a lasting impression of warm and ripe dark fruit.  Very drinkable now, this wine should develop further with 3-5 years in the cellar." $14.99

Norman Vineyards 2003 "The Monster" Zinfandel - This elegant wine has a complex aroma with ripe blackberry and plum enhanced by spicy notes of pepper and cinnamon. Full-bodied, it is supremely balanced with a robust raspberry flavor, gentle acidity, velvety tannins and a lingering finish of caramel. Serve with wild game, or as an aperitif with cheese and nuts.  $19.99

Root 1 - 2003 Cabernet Sauvignon - Deep ruby color, intense aromas of red fruits and cassis with a hint of vanilla. Well balanced with soft tannins and a medium body.  Bright cherry and plums flavors explode in the mouth, and finishes with a long silky mouthfeel.  Made from 100 year old Cabernet vines!  $13.99

Trentadue "La Storia" 2003 Petite Sirah-   This is a "big wine" as the connoisseurs of wine usually describe wines of massive extraction, fully body and lengthy finish. But the wine is also well balanced with concentrated black fruit, molasses, smoky chocolate and cigar box aromas. This wine has a definite hedonistic edge right now but it will undoubtedly age for a decade.   $29.99

Alasia Moscato d'Asti - Light gold in color with powerful aromas of honey, flowers and fresh grapes. Intensely sweet, with flavors of grapes and citrus and finishing cleanly with refreshing acidity.  Need a refreshing wine before a meal, pick this one!  $9.99

Trentadue "La Storia" Meritage 2002 - Based in the tradition of the great wines of Bordeaux, specifically of Pomeroll. The Merlot grapes in their Geyserville Estate Alexander Valley vineyards thrive in the gravelly/sandy, well-drained soils and, year after year, show this varietal's ability to produce complex, layered wines destined for aging and enjoying for many years to come. The wine is dark, viscous and complex, slowly revealing its richness with aeration. The opening is intense with ripe plums, Bing cherries followed by smoky, chocolaty aromas. Further aeration reveals pronounced aromas of leather, brown sugar, molasses and slightly herbal nuances. Obviously very young at the time of these notes, the mouth feel of this wine is nevertheless rich, robust and hearty created for longevity. The body is full with well structured tannins and balanced acidity leading to a long firm finish. Made from 48% Merlot, 38% Cabernet Sauvignon, 14% Cabernet Franc. Rogue Chipotle- Dedicated to Spanish author Juan de la Cueva, who, in 1575, wrote of a Mexican dish that combined seedless chipotles with beer: Chipotle Ale is based on Rogue's Oregon Golden Ale, but delicately spiced with smoked chipotle chile peppers. Deep golden in color with a tight head, rich malty aroma, delicately smooth and crisp flavor, and subtle chipotle-smoky chili finish. Chipotle Ale is created from Northwest Harrington, Klages, and Maier Munich Malts; Willamette and Cascade hops; and Smoked Jalapeno (Chipolte) Peppers.
